Regarding the apostrophe in Prince George's: In the late 1950's when I went to elementary school and learned about the County, I distinctly recall it being referred to as simply 'Prince George' county. I believe that was even the name on the school buses. My memory could be incorrect; but I also remember being puzzled in later years when I found it being written "Prince George's". If anyone can find an official County document from the 1950's or 1960's, I'd really be interested in knowing how the name was styled.
