The second story, "Prince George's joins digital age," is timely, given Alpert's editorial on public subsidies in rural areas, which explicitly mentioned telecommunication subsidies. From the article, "...Massie students are in line for a new tool: a publicly funded high-speed network that will bring the school firmly into the digital age."

Sounds like a public service subsidy to me.
