I would think that a Metro extension would make sense, under the conditions that a) American megaprojects could get their costs under control, and b) that the land use changes along the corridor could be Rosslyn-Ballston-esque.

I wonder if some of the lessons of the short stretch of the Red line where it's not fully underground, yet not in the CSX ROW might be illustrative for how it might work.

Adding that level of transit without the accompanying development doesn't make much sense, and there's tremendous opportunity along the corridor.
