@Bertie - have you ever known anyone who relied on MetroAccess? I have. Those groups ARE subsidized. Thats what MetroAccess does. It makes transportation affordable and accessible for a vulnerable group. The fact that you don't think that group is directly subsidized - that creating an accessible and affordable mode of transportation that also allows some independence is a direct subsidy- makes it seem like you don't understand how MetroAccess works, or its value in terms unmeasurable in dollars. I'm happy to live in a society that provides this subsidy and service. Its very civilized and decent, as in something that decent human beings do for one another.
