one of our neighborhood DCPS elementary schools got a new principal who hired a handful of young, white, gay teachers in the space of a year or two. A lot of parents transferred their kids out of the school.

Sounds like parental ignorance. But what there some sort of method to hiring a handful of young, white, gay teachers?
