RE Sharrows, does anyone else think that article about sharrows was misguided? My belief is that sharrows serve two purposes: First, to remind drivers that the road is shared with bikes. Second, to encourage cyclists to stay out of the door zone by indicating where on the roadway it is safest for them to ride. Perhaps they increase safety, not bike ridership. Isn't that also a good reason to use them in places where dedicated bike lanes are untenable?
