As with the loss of Jason Cherkis to reporting on national issues, DC suffers when the talent moves on up. There are always good new people waiting in the wings, though.

Unlike with our political bench, where people have no way to move up, reporters here can, and there are few cities where they have more opportunities to do so. That's at least one thing our city can claim as an advantage over others.
