I live in a 400sq' apartment, and it's a great space. My two complaints are more to do with layout than with square footage. First, it's hard to gain "psychic space" if there are two people there, like for example your significant other is hanging out for the weekend. Second, it's a little weird to invite people in (even friends) and your bed is *right there*. I think partition would go a long way to alleviate these two problems.
