The proposal to make 34th Street between M Street and Wisconsin Avenue a thoroughfare, presumably as an alternative to Wisconsin Avenue, is interesting (ignoring the destruction that this would have caused). But wouldn't the first block, between M and Prospect Streets, have been unacceptably steep?
