Cavan, Correct ... that's never going to happen. People adapt. We'll find more ways to stretch the oil we have (as we've doing now very successfully for over 30 years with ever more efficient cars), we'll find new sources of oil (again, as we've been doing successfully now since the "discovery" of oil), but most importantly, if we need to change the source of the energy (to say solar, nuclear, or whatever) we will ... WHEN the day comes that oil isn't the cheapest alternative as it is now.

What we won't do, is give up the mobility (and the opportunities it opens) that only personal transporation can provide with the effectiveness and efficiency it does.
