ah, thanks for beating me to the punch with David T. Additionally, he fails to see that realistically, we can't all be biking to work. And the problem with biking is that 'bikes don't play well with others'. Bottom line isn't 'who was there first' (refering to Omari's comments) or 'what should be in someone's self-focused opinion (referring to Reid et al.) but to what is. And the reality of 'what is' is that we couldn't get everyone to work on time and efficiently(as well shown by mark in his post) UNLESS bikes learn to 'play well with others'. And as CJ shows us, that isn't possible ... Bikes require a whole different set of rules in order to operate effectively ... Which just doesn't mix well with the fact that all others including pedestrians, motorists, and buses follow a separate, but common, set of rules. Bottom line is bikes don't play well with others, and realistically when they start to screw things up badly enough, they'll probably be banned at certain times and/or from certain streets. There's no 'should' or 'wish' or 'that'd be the right thing to do' here ... just some hard reality.
