@Lou, more buses would reduce dwell time, but not travel time. Fewer stops would reduce both. What is needed is an express bus from DC to Dulles (which is why I agree that truncating the line is a bad idea). The 5A is almost that, but not because of the two incongruous stops. WMATA should decouple the two services, as Zach W says the Fairfax County Master Plan advocates.
