Appears to be another fraternal organization, the Odd Fellows.

The Freemasons were only one of the earliest and most prominent of the fraternal organizations that rose to popularity in the late 1700's and fell from it in the early 1900's. There were hundreds or thousands of popular social clubs like this, and towards the end maybe half of adult males were members. They were highly influential in politics, particularly in independence movements, around the world. What survives is a remnant of a remnant, with an average age in the 60's, an elaborate hierarchy of artifice & tradition that is not particularly attractive to newcomers, and lodges being sold off regularly.

Respect for their history doesn't stop me from making fun of some of the more bizarre aspects of the organization, or from the only person in my life affiliated with them from punching me when I do.
