@ Steven Yates: Hasn't the core of the White Flint area seen a drastic reduction in parking in recent years? The area where the Marriott and the Bethesda North Conference Center are used to be a Metro parking lot and the ADA lot recently was closed to begin work on a mixed-use project.

I know the other surface lot was supplanted by the garage, but I think that's a move in the right direction. Also consider that the old Sport & Health Club at Marinelli & Nebel that's long abandoned has been turned into a parking lot.
