Donna Edwards gets on transportation committee

Donna Edwards was recently sworn in as the newest Member of Congress, representing large parts of PG County and a little bit of eastern and northern Montgomery County (around Olney). Today, she got her committee assignments, which include the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. We already know Donna is a friend of public transportation. Great news!

Donna Edwards' district covers half of Montgomery County, from Clarksburg down to Silver Spring, so it's not just the eastern part. (see map)

My wonderful new congresswoman Donna Edwards represents much more of Montgomery County than "a little bit" around Olney. A third of her constituents live in Montgomery. The fourth district includes most of downtown Silver Spring, Olney, Burtonsville, Laytonsville, and stretches west across the northern part of the county all the way to Germantown.

Finally, proof that there is a God after all.

Actually, Donna's district goes even farther west than Germantown. It includes Clarksburg, part of Damascus, and goes all the way to the Montgomery County/Frederick County line at Comus and Hyattstown, just east of Urbana.
