Great photos. The one captioned "Downtown (K St)" is the view I have from my living room. Those are colorful buildings but not very architecturally distinguished. I'd trade my current view for any of the other 7.

Please keep posting these photos. They are always a delight.

Not to be too picky but I do not think the 300 block of K Street counts as downtown.

snow-I was out of town last week. Was there snowfall that stuck in Dupont?

These are reasonably good examples of why I disagree with local ordnances protecting this:
Neighborhood consistency. Having architectural unity in our neighborhoods, especially among row houses, creates value by preserving the attractive and harmonious feel of a block.
These are two-hundred-year-old neighborhoods which are better off for their diversity.

Bianchi: when picking 8 photos for a post, I often have to dig through my archives, so the snowy scene is not recent.

Maw: Yes, I think I'd agree with you. It's "downtownish," perhaps. My goal was to have two streetscapes from four neighborhoods, and I just thought the K St buildings fit in well with the others. But yes, the label doesn't fit quite as well. It seems "downtown" streetscapes are too often synominous with monolithic developments, and I wanted to show streetscapes that have a variety of smaller buildings. I'm sure I'll get around to a follow-up post next year.
