According to DDOT’s Mike Goodno, New Hampshire Avenue will get contraflow bike lanes in the next year, enabling bicyclists to ride toward or away from U Street. New Hampshire is plenty wide and much safer than nearby major streets, making this a perfect place for these lanes and legalizing the behavior for which MPD recently ticketed people.
