Please ask Mary Cheh,,, how the Environment Committee can help move DC away from using gas powered Lawn care equipment. The excessive pollution causes greenhouse gases, global warming, ozone ,aggravates asthmatics, and creates disturbing noise. Can a program of coupons/ trade ins, education on alternatives to grass, and even neighborhood pollution free equipment sharing,, be developed for the District.

Councilwoman Cheh, can you exoplain your vote to approve the Brookland/CUA Small Area Plan. It includes the unacceptable destruction of our tree filled park at the metro plaza. We have few parks and this is an environmental affront to the city. Why aren't you helping us preserve this central green commons?

As head of the Committee on Governmental Operations and the Environment, can you examine the incredibly wasteful and polluting practice of many dc police forces, that sit in cruisers idling the engines for hours. Capitol police sit two cars to an interection idling their motors all the time. Idling in general should be actively discouraged and made illegal and enforced..
