Today, Marion Barry’s casket will lie in repose in the Wilson Building then moved to the Temple of Praise on Southern Ave SE for a musical and video tribute. Tomorrow, a celebration of Barry’s life will take place at the Convention Center. (City Paper)

After the DC United-Reeves Center swap deal was scrapped, Mayor Vince Gray sent out then recalled a press release slamming the DC Council for not honoring Marion Barry’s legacy. A new Reeves Center would’ve been built in Ward 8. (City Paper)
