Share the road
The DC DMV plans to send DC drivers educational information about sharing the road with cyclists. Ward 1 Councilmember Brianne Nadeau wrote a letter to the agency asking for better information for drivers. (WAMU)
Curb U-turns
In an effort to discourage drivers making U-turns across the bike lanes on Pennsylvania Ave, DDOT has installed more wheel stops. Meanwhile, drivers still parked in the bike lanes on Bike to Work Day. (DCist)
Bus wash won’t be a wash
Arlington will build a new maintenance facility for its ART buses in Crystal City. WMATA currently fuels and washes the buses in a garage next door, but Arlington can save money doing so itself. (Post)
Hurry up for safety
Maryland Avenue, NE on Capitol Hill is dangerous, and DDOT has plans to fix it. But construction won’t start for at least two years. Councilmember Charles Allen and residents are urging DDOT to get moving. (WAMU)

The market for office space in DC’s downtown is waning. Now there is a push to convert more offices into residential living. More residential space could help liven up the area when office workers leave for the day. (Post)
Mixed-use school
The Georgetown Day School will expand its campus on the former Safeway grocery store in Tenleytown. In addition to more school space, the new buildings will have ground-floor retail and residential units. (UrbanTurf)
Arts & science
