Changing of the guard
Metro’s top real estate official, Stan Wall, is leaving the agency for the private sector. For three years, Wall has been in charge of making development deals around Metro stations and worked to bring the FBI to Greenbelt. (Post)
Stadium one step closer
DC United has chosen an architecture firm to design its new soccer stadium. The firm also designed Camden Yards and Nationals Park, and produced images the team used in marketing proposals. (Post)
Silver Spring saga
The Silver Spring Transit Center will probably open in September, now that Montgomery County and Metro have resolved their issues around transferring the station. Metro’s board still has to approve the transfer. (NBC4)
Closing time
Governor Hogan called for the immediate closure of the Baltimore City Detention Center. The move will not close down the entire downtown jail complex, as the central booking facility, women’s jail, and pretrial buildings will remain. (Post)
