If you live in Virginia, don’t forget to vote on Tuesday! Then share your input on transit options on Route 7 and in Arlington, a redevelopment of Reston Town Center North, and help shape the future of Lee Highway. In the District, join Casey Trees to talk about just how important trees are in our lives.

Vote in Virginia: If you are a Virginia resident, don’t forget to visit the polls and vote on Tuesday, November 3. We published endorsements that identify the most urbanist-friendly candidates.

After the jump: Route 7, Arlington bus plan, Reston North, Tree stories, and Lee Highway.

Envision Route 7: The Envision Route 7 plan is trying to determine the best transit option for the corridor between Tysons Corner and Alexandria. Head to one of three public meetings over the next three weeks to learn about and weigh in on ridership and cost projections for different options like light rail, bus rapid transit, and enhanced bus service. The first meeting is on Wednesday, November 4, at 7 pm at 4480 King Street in Alexandria.

Arlington bus plan: Arlington is developing a 10-year plan to improve bus service in the county and enhance transit service along Columbia Pike and in Crystal City. Share you thoughts on the plan at one of two open houses this week. The first is today, November 2, from 7 pm to 9 pm at 527 909 S. Dinwiddie Street in Arlington and the second is on Wednesday, November 4, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at 3351 Fairfax Drive in Arlington.

Adding to Reston: Reston Town Center North could soon be redeveloped into a mixed-use area that will compliment the existing Reston Town Center development. The project includes affordable housing, green space, and walkable connections. Share your thoughts on the project at a public meeting on Wednesday, November 4, at 7:30 pm at 1400 South Lakes Drive in Reston.

Tree stories: Do you have a special relationship with trees? Join Casey Trees as they host director Ward Serrill to hear about his latest project, Tree Story, a project that documents compelling stories of people and trees. Dinner and a preview of the movie are in store at the event, which is at 6 pm on Thursday, November 5, at 3030 12th Street NE. RSVP is required.

Lee Highway charrette: Lee Highway is one of the major east-west arterial roads in Arlington. This weekend, stakeholders will come together for a community visioning charrette of the area in hopes of producing both long and short-term vision statements. Weigh in on Lee Highway’s land use, transit networks, economic development, and more, at several events from Friday, November 6 to Monday, November 9 at 2121 N Culpeper Street in Arlington. There is a kick off on Friday from 6 pm to 8 pm, a hands-on design session on Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm, a studio walk-through on Sunday from 3 pm to 5 pm, and a wrap-up open house on Monday from 7 pm to 9 pm.
