How we expand Union Station and what we do with the RFK Stadium land will affect DC in a major way. Share your opinions on both projects this week! Also, lend your support for more sidewalks in Fairfax, and give Metro some advice.

Changes to Union Station: Big plans are in the works to expand and modernize Union Station. Learn about the project at a forum this Wednesday, March 30, in the East Hall of Union Station (50 Massachusetts Avenue NE). There will be an open house from 4 pm to 8 pm, with two presentations, one at 4:30 and one at 6:30.

After the jump: RFK, walking in Fairfax, and advice for Metro.

New RFK: DC’s football team wants a new stadium, and its owner wants it to go where RFK currently sits. Renderings of what it might look like recently came out. Head over to the Convention Center (801 Mt Vernon Place NW) next Monday, April 4 at 6:30 pm to hear about the designs and share you thoughts on the initial concepts.

Pedestrian connections: A new sidewalk could create a needed connection for a residential neighborhood near the I-66 overpass near Great Falls Street and North West Street in Fairfax. Learn about the project and share your opinion at a community meeting on Wednesday, March 30, at 7 pm at 2328 N Oak Street in Falls Church.

Metro wants advice: The Metro Riders’ Advisory Council, a group of individuals that advises Metro’s board of directors on issues related to bus and rail, will hold its April public meeting next Wednesday, April 6 at 6:30 pm at Metro Headquarters (600 5th Street NW). Share your opinion at this meeting or any of their monthly meetings, which will be on the first Wednesday of every month for the rest of the year.
