Share your input on how we use the RFK land, how Metro can be better, bike lanes in Fairfax, and how to accommodate growth in Montgomery County. Also, help Action Committee for Transit celebrate 30 years!

What should we do with RFK?: There are a number of possibilities for what the land RFK sits on might become, and on Monday night, EventsDC is hosting a meeting to show and collect feedback on them. It’s at the Convention Center (801 Mount Vernon Place NW) today, Monday, April 4th at 6:30 pm.

After the jump: Advise for Metro, Bike lanes in Fairfax, ACT’s anniversary, and transportation and growth.

Metro wants advice: The Metro Riders’ Advisory Council, a group of individuals that advises Metro’s board of directors on issues related to bus and rail, will hold its April public meeting this Wednesday, April 6th at 6:30 pm at Metro Headquarters (600 5th Street NW). Share your opinion at this meeting or any of the RAC’s monthly meetings, which will be on the first Wednesday of every month for the rest of the year.

Fairfax bike projects: Fairfax’s Braddock District may get new bike lanes as part of road paving projects this summer. Come show your support at a community meeting next Tuesday, April 12th, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Canterbury Woods Elementary School (4910 Willet Drive).

ACT anniversary: Action Committee for Transit’s monthly meeting is celebrating its 30th anniversary! Join the festivities next Monday, April 11th at 6 pm at Bump & Grind (1200 East-West Highway) in Silver Spring.

Transit for growth: As new houses go up in Montgomery County, the quality of the surrounding transportation infrastructure will be put to the test. Head over to Montgomery County’s Subdivision Staging Policy’s community meeting next Tuesday, April 12 to share your thoughts on how transportation can keep up with new development.
