FBI redevelopment: The Pennsylvania Avenue land that the J. Edgar Hoover FBI building currently sits on could be redeveloped. Head to public meetings this Tuesday, April 26, from 6 pm to 8 pm and this Thursday, April 28, at 9:30 am at the National Capital Planning Commission (401 9th Street NW #500) to hear about and share your opinions on the redevelopment and future use.

Arena in Ward 8: The District is likely to help the Wizards build a new practice facility at St. Elizabeth’s in Congress Heights. Share your thoughts and get your questions answered at a community meeting with the leaders of the development team in Ward 8 at 6:30 pm at Old Congress Heights School (3100 Martin Luther King Jr Avenue SE).

Livability in Ward 4: DDOT is studying Ward 4, which includes Petworth, Crestwood, Brightwood, and 16th Street Heights, to see how to make it a better place to live. Head over to the first public meeting this Thursday, April 28, from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Petworth Neighborhood Library (4200 Kansas Ave NW) to share your opinion on transportation, green infrastructure, and sustainability improvements in the area.

A future for the Pike: What’s the future of Columbia Pike? Discuss and debate current issues like development, affordable housing, and schools with opinion columnists, and hear about future possibilities from city officials. RSVP is required and tickets are five dollars, but proceeds go to a local sexual violence awareness non-profit.

Old Town North tour: The Coalition for Smarter Growth is kicking off their spring walking tour season this weekend in Old Town North. Join the tour this Saturday, April 30, at 10am to hear from experts on Old Town North’s updated plan for new mixed-use development, public spaces, and bike and pedestrian facilities. RSVP for more details.

Faces of Transit forum: The Purple Line and bus rapid transit could bring major change to Montgomery and Prince George’s County. Hear from experts and neighbors and discuss what is working and not working in transit in your community at a forum hosted by Coalition for Smarter Growth and CASA de Maryland next Tuesday, May 3, at 6:30 pm at 1 Veterans Pl in Silver Spring.
