Shane, nobody is trying to eliminate car-dependency, just lessen it. These developments plus Metro do just that. It's people like you and the County Council that need to realize that forsaking smart growth around Metro stations for slightly faster commuting times for cars that are driving further and further out (because there just isn't anywhere to live closer-in) is unintelligent and unsustainable. If we're going to grow, let's grow smart. Otherwise the growth will leap-frog even further into Frederick County and PA, and, guess what?! Those cars will be commuting on I-270 and 355 making traffic worse anyway. Let's try to get some of the people that would be mucking up traffic all the way to PA to live on a Metro station so that they won't have to commute using cars and everyone can be a lot happier. Check mate.

____________________________________________________________

Check mate has FAILED.........

To get people to live closer to the Metro/MARC Rail Stations in Suburban Maryland would mean reducing the Outrages Apartment Rental, Condo, and Single Home Prices in which they have no intentions of doing. They will also have to push harder to build more High Rise Office Towers near Suburban Maryland Transit Hubs equaling the size of Downtown DC, Arlington/Alexandria, and Tysons Corner which they also have no DEFINITE Plans of doing. They will also have to either expand the existing Indoor Shopping Malls or Build New Multi-Level Shopping Malls near Suburban Maryland Transit Hubs like Pentagon City, Crystal City, Ballston, and Tysons Corner in which they have no plans of doing......

So as far as I know Smar Growth is just a bunch lip[ service in disguise of promoting Anti-Growth for Suburban Maryland while Promoting more Urbanizing Upscale Growth throughout Northern Virginia.........

I would not want to see a B-17 try to take off a carrier. That would be a disaster.

Fine. That just means my small house in the inner city will appreciate that much faster. You can lead a horse to water...

The problem with this argument is that there is No Way you can eliminate Car Dependency because if that were true then there would not be any sign of Additional Road/Highway Construction in Tyson's Corner especially since METRO is now Building a $5 Billion Metro Rail to Loudon County with 4 Metro Stations being built in Tyson's Corner.

Until this can be understood then the New Development in White Flint will successfully Progress.......

I was going to comment that it was B-25's instead of B-17's, but i was beaten to it. I am impressed of the knowledge of a relatively obscure historical note by the readers. Bravo.

Good article about troubling news.

Minor correction - but it's to your lede - Doolittle's aircraft were B-25s, not B-17s.
