Greater Greater Washington. The Washington, DC area is great. But it could be greater.

Budget

Zimmerman to visit happy hour tomorrow; sign up to testify for transit on the Arlington budget

The next Greater Greater Washington happy hour is tomorrow in Arlington, and WMATA Board member Chris Zimmerman plans to join us at the beginning before the Arlington budget hearing.

We've moved the start time one half hour earlier, to 6 pm. Zimmerman wants to attend, but has to be at in the county building by 6:45 for the budget hearing. So come on down early on to talk to one of the region's best advocates for transit and walkable, bikeable development.

If you live, work, play or shop in Arlington, sign up to speak at the budget hearing as well. It's best to select 2 minutes (versus 3), since you'll get to speak earlier. It's fine to even just speak for 10 seconds and urge the Arlington Board to support transit and avoid service cuts.

We'll try to track the progress of the witness list so you can hang out at the bar until it's close to time. And after you speak, come back to the bar for a few post-budget drinks.

The location is Ireland's Four Courts, right near Court House Metro and the county government building where the hearing will take place.

See you tomorrow!

Update: If you sign up (or already signed up), post your name in the comments or email info@ggwash.org so we can track where supporters are on the list and try to give you that heads up when your turn is getting close.
