Live chat: Shane Farthing of WABA, tomorrow at 1

Greater Greater Washington will host its next live guest, Washington Area Bicyclist Association executive director Shane Farthing, tomorrow at 1 pm.

Since he took over as the region's top bike advocate in June, the region has seen the official opening of the Pennsylvania Avenue bike lanes and details about the coming Capital Bikeshare, as well as continued crashes and deaths.

Please tune in live tomorrow at 1 pm when Shane will take your questions. Whether you are available then or not, feel free to leave your questions in the comments and we'll select some for the discussion.

Stephen Miller lived in the District from 2008 to 2011 and is now a student at Pratt Institute's city and regional planning masters program.

i don't know if i'll be able to make the chat or not, but i wanted to ask shane about cycling outreach to the african-american community.

i live in trinidad. majority african-american (by a long shot), and most of the many kids in my neighborhood bike around. but the teenagers and the adults don't. what can be done to instill that culture of cycling in people so that they realize it's more than just something you do when you're young, and stop doing when you're 14, especially if you're black.
