The USDOT just announced TIGER II winners. The Washington metropolitan area got nothing this round, including expanding Capital Bikeshare, streetcar projects, or the Union Station expanded mezzanine.

Many have charged that the decisions seem very political (like Fort Worth getting money for a streetcar in TIGER I that was far less planned than DC’s), though we don’t have the information to prove or disprove that. At the same time, there were many worthy projects nationwide and very little money.
