Where do DC’s at-large Councilmembers live?
I’m listening to the entertaining debate in the DC Council on the noise bill, broadcast on the local cable Channel 13. Harry Thomas (ward 5) introduced an amendment to restrict the proposed legislation to only residentially zoned districts, as opposed to mixed-use districts. Muriel Bowser (ward 4), Jim Graham (1) and Yvette Alexander (7) so far have spoken in favor of this change, while Mary Cheh (3), Tommy Wells (5), and David Catania (at large) support keeping the broader restrictions.
This debate brings up a question: where do our at-large Councilmembers live? I can find that Phil Mendelson lives in McLean Gardens and Kwame Brown and Vincent Gray live in Hillcrest, but what neighborhoods do David Catania and Carol Schwartz call home? Before I try to dig it up, does anyone here know?
Heh—Jim Graham just used the phrase “sewing a coat to a button,” which he says he learned in “a recent hearing.” That was the Klingle hearing, used by the man who testified right after me.
