Matt Johnson has lived in the Washington region since mid-2007. He has a Master's degree in Community Planning from the University of Maryland and a BS in Public Policy from Georgia Tech. He has worked in the planning field since 2006 and lives in Greenbelt, where he serves on the city's Advisory Planning Board. 
Laura DeSantis is the Online Advocacy and Outreach Specialist for the Coalition for Smarter Growth. Prior to joining CSG, Laura worked at Fleishman-Hillard Communications, where she worked on digital and social media strategy for clients. Laura is a 2009 graduate of Penn State University and holds bachelor's degrees in Public Relations and History.

Re: the Amtrak pictures...

Stop posting HDR photos!! You could make a pile of dog shit look good with HDR. It looks cool the first few times, but after a while it just gets annoying.

To be fair, this was Matt's first attempt at HDR.

That said, it looks more like a painting than a photo. I'd rather have the latter.

@ Stephen Smith...Way to expand your horizons, pal. How about you post some of your art and we'll all analyze that?

Appreciate the different types of photos, GGW. Keep up the good work posting photography around the region. Ignore the "a photograph is supposed to look like this and not that" crowd.

Thanks for including my pic. Wish I had taken the photo of the DC bike rack. I've seen it for years and thought it seemed ridiculous.
