Dinner links: bikes, bikinis and boorish modernists
First bike sharing, now tricycle sharing: No, it's not a program to teach kindergarteners to share their toys. A San Francisco bike shop launched a trike-sharing program for adult-size tricycles, which can carry a lot more cargo than bikes. North Beach residents are using them for errands like trips to the local Trader Joe's. Tip: Ben T.How would Jesus wash? San Antonio is considering an ordinance to require bikini car washes to screen their washers from view of the road, because one was causing traffic from gawkers. A nearby church has since taken over that carwash, and nuns in bikinis now wash your car. No, just kidding about the nuns. Via Planetizen.
Obama gets a craving for some cycling: Lamenting the need for heavy security, the President-elect told the Post, "somtimes ... you just want to go take a walk or go out and ride your bike" but that now requires a huge entourage. Via WashCycle.
Does DC have too many historic buildings? InShaw asks the question after seeing a nearby address in the Historic American Buildings Survey which InShaw says contains "some plain Janes." Via DC Metrocentric.
Le Corbusier was an a**hole: We already know his architecture was crap. According to a new biography, he painted over a friend's white walls without her permission, among many other "utterly obnoxious" acts. Via Planetizen.

Best sprawl photo ever
Both Streetsblog and Smart Growth America used this photo of San Antonio, from Kaptain Krispy Kreme on Flickr, on recent stories about the Bush administration seeking to raid the transit fund to pay for highways. It really is a terrific illustration of sprawl gone mad.
